Early end to the 2019/20 season

Well it’s been a bit of a disastrous ski season in Korea with very little snowfall until some late dumps in February, but by then the coronavirus situation was keeping most locals at home and making most international tourists rethink their plans.

This website had a 90% drop in traffic in February compared to the same time last year, which gives you an idea how badly tourism to Korea has been impacted.

Unsurprisingly, the resorts are closing early this year with most calling it a day by March 1st and just a few soldiering on to March 8th and only Phoenix Park intending to go on to the 15th. In case anyone is still looking to get a day on the slopes in March, here’s the closing date list:

Bears Town March 1st

Konjiam March 1st

Yangji Pine March 1st

Jisan Forest March 8th

Eden Valley Feb 28th

Elysian Gangchon March 1st

Oak Valley March 1st

Vivaldi Park March 1st

High1 Feb 29th

Alpensia March 8th

Yongpyong March 8th

Phoenix Park March 15th
