2023 Opening Dates

The 2023/24 ski season is underway in Korea, opening dates as follows:

Yongpyong 24th November

Phoenix Park 24th November

Vivaldi Park 29th November

Welli Hilli Park 1st December

Elysian Gangchon 1st December

Alpensia 2nd December

O2 7th December

High1 8th December

New season opening postponed

Quarantine measures have been lifted and you can finally visit Korea normally again this winter, so this should be the first normal ski season in Korea since covid came along.

The first resorts (like Phoenix & Yongpyong) were scheduled to open on November 25th, however they’ve had to delay opening due to unseasonally high temperatures (still around 10°C at Yongpyong this week)

Opening dates & covid update

The third season of the pandemic is about to get underway, so it’s time for an update.

You can still visit Korea as a tourist, but depending on your nationality you’ll probably have to do a 14-day hotel quarantine at your own expense. I actually did this in summer 2020 and it wasn’t too bad,

Season closing dates

If you’re in Korea and looking to get in some late season turns in March, you still have a few options.

Most resorts closed on March 1st (or in late February in some cases), but you can still hit the following:

Phoenix Park (closing Sunday 7th)

High1 (closing Sunday 14th)

Welli Hilli Park (Sunday 14th)

Yongpyong (Sunday 21st)

Discount tickets are available so you should only need to pay around 20k KRW for a pass.
