New season opening postponed

Quarantine measures have been lifted and you can finally visit Korea normally again this winter, so this should be the first normal ski season in Korea since covid came along.

The first resorts (like Phoenix & Yongpyong) were scheduled to open on November 25th, however they’ve had to delay opening due to unseasonally high temperatures (still around 10°C at Yongpyong this week)

They’ll get the first runs open as soon as possible, which probably means early December as the temperature’s predicted to stay warm until December and then drop sharply.

I’ll update this post with the opening dates as they’re announced.

Update: okay, so the first Gangwon-do resorts are opening on the first weekend in December, Yongpyong on Sat 2nd and Alpensia & Phoenix Park on the 3rd

Also: High1 9th, Vivaldi Park 12th, Welli Hilli Park 14th

Seoul area resorts: Konjiam 10th, Jisan 12th
